LANDSCAPES

Landscapes were often painted for personal enjoyment and remembrances, rather than as commercial illustration assignments. Without a deadline or waiting client, Moss enjoyed both plein air painting, and working in the studio from photo studies to build the mood through light and shadow in these paintings. Most reflect places close to home and close to his heart, particularly the many views of the Farmington River in Connecticut, painted in the late 1990s and early 2000s.
